Western Commodities import both conventional and organic apricots from Turkey. We import most sizes whole fruit, large organic fruit and different dice sizes from 3-5 mm to 10 mm.

In our UK factory we inspect, macerate, dice and x-ray apricots, both conventional and organic.

The journey of our conventional dried apricots originates in the orchards of Malatya, central eastern Turkey, the primary apricot growing region in the world. Believed to be native to china, the Apricot is thought to date back to around 3000 BC

The Apricot has long been known for its health benefits as a good source of vitamin A and an excellent source of iron. In fact eating just 3 Apricots a day fulfils the RDA of iron intake. Nutrients in apricots can also help to protect the heart and eyes, as well as provide the disease-fighting effects of fibre. Their high beta-carotene and lycopene activity makes them an important heart health food.
